The Commercial Model Sprint helps your team build a pricing model for one service line, based on what the work is worth to the client. You test it against past projects and prepare a quote for your next brief.
Trusted by ambitious agencies and brands
AI is changing work and your pricing needs to account for it.
You've invested in AI, and it is changing what your team can deliver. Work can be produced faster and to a higher standard, including services you couldn't offer before.
But if you still charge by the hour, you risk undercutting your own model.
A pricing model built on your own projects
Use your agency’s project data to agree how your pricing should reflect what AI makes possible.
-

Price for the value you deliver
Set prices that reflect the quality of your work and the services AI now makes possible. Decide how much of that value to keep as margin and when to give clients more for their fee.
-

Explore recurring revenue
Identify which services or agency-owned tools could be sold on subscription or licence, and what you would need in place before offering them.
-

Ready for client conversations
Help your account leads explain the price with confidence. They leave with a practical FAQ, including how to respond when clients ask why faster work should cost the same.
The result?
Your team understands how AI changes the value of your work and what that means for your pricing. You can agree how to charge in a way that supports your business model.
What you’ll cover
Three 3-hour sessions with a Spark consultant. Between sessions, your team does the analysis using our templates and develops the pricing rules they'll use in future quotes.
-
Review past projects to see how AI has changed the work and where that value has gone. Has the agency kept it as margin, or has the client received more for the same fee?
Look beyond hours saved to improvements in quality and services you can now offer. Use this to decide how each part of the service should be priced.
-
Agree the pricing rules and build the price book for your chosen service line.
-
Review the model against your re-costed projects. Use the results to practise the client conversation, then choose the project you will pilot it on.

The sprint uses Spark frameworks to identify where the value created by AI goes and how your agency can capture more of it.
You receive:
A price book and quote builder for one service line
A one-page set of pricing rules your team can apply to each project
Your past projects re-costed, comparing the old fee with the new fee and showing the margin on each
A client and procurement FAQ for your account leads
A pilot brief for your next new project
Why Spark
Spark AI works with you to build AI capability inside your organisation, providing the training, governance, roadmap and AI workflows your team needs to lead AI adoption for yourselves. When the sprint ends, the capability stays.
Once the flywheel is in motion, your team has all the skills to implement your strategy, build AI-enabled workflows, and continually gain momentum.
FAQs about the Commercial Model Sprint
-
Not across the board. Before you change anything, you see how the new model would affect each client's fees. You set the minimum margin yourselves.
-
Choose one service line or project type with at least three completed projects, so you can test the model across several jobs.
-
Your MD and the person responsible for commercial or finance should attend, along with one or two account leads who will sell the new model.
Whoever signs off the rate card also needs to be involved. For a group-owned agency, that may be group finance.
-
Between sessions, your team gathers project data and uses our templates to draft the pricing rules and re-cost past projects. Most of this work sits with finance and one account lead.
-
£10,000+VAT for one service line or project type. Get in touch for group pricing across several agencies.
-
No. You can do the sprint on its own. It works best when AI is already changing how you deliver work.

No. We set the rules with you and provide the test model. Your finance team builds the production cost sheet.
We don't negotiate with your clients or run the pilot.
